Some GM Dealerships In Colo. To Retain Franchise

(7 NEWS) - Some car dealerships in Colorado are getting a second chance at life. Area General Motors dealers who had their franchises yanked, will soon be getting cars from GM once again.

Brett Hajek was one of 25 GM dealers in Colorado that was stripped of its franchise last Spring. That means he can’t get vehicles from the factory.“I have basically one of every model in stock. I just don’t have the selection in every model I would normally carry,” said Hajek.

But Hajek is optimistic that he’ll get his franchise back. He thinks the fact he has a new facility and strong customer base will sway GM in his favor.

Shoppers across Colorado could benefit if dealerships are restored.”When there are more dealerships out there that offer that product, the price is going to be more competitive,” said Tim Jackson, president of the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association.
